Leadership Team

Our leadership team includes software industry veterans and experts in the physical therapy industry.

Michael J. Gassman
President and CEO

Mr. Gassman brings more than 30 years of experience in business creation, management and technology to In Hand Health, LLC.

He has founded or provided key technology and critical formation expertise to several highly successful start-up and technology ventures in the region, including Innovative Software and Kinetic Presentations.

Most recently he was founder of and on the board of LightWild (acquired by Flextronics International in 2012) and president/CEO of Tidestone Technologies, a computer software firm he co-founded in 1996, which developed Java-based spreadsheet technology and was sold in an all-stock transaction to Actuate Corporation in May 2001. He founded ImageMark Software Labs in 1982.


Michael Novosel
VP, Sales

Mr. Novosel specializes in providing business development and sales leadership for early-stage and post-acquisition software organizations.

With nearly 30 years of industry experience, he has held sales and sales management positions at Informix Software, Information Builders, Visual Components/Tidestone Technologies, Parametric Technology, and Digital Archaeology. Most recently, Mr. Novosel worked for more than a decade at iModules Software, where he served as vice president of sales and vice president of enterprise client sales.


Jeff Clary
VP, Software Development

Mr. Clary combines a Ph.D. in computer science with 25 years of professional software development experience.

His career includes positions at a wide variety of companies – from global technology organizations to start-up companies including IBM, General Dynamics, Visual Components, Euronet Worldwide, and eLuminate Health. Over the years, Mr. Clary's projects have been in such diverse areas as artificial intelligence, parallel processing, commercial ActiveX controls, point-of-sale transaction processing, B2B interfaces, and Android phone applications. The common thread running through his career is his in-depth and cutting-edge software engineering knowledge and his ability to build and deliver excellent software solutions on time and on budget.


Mark Spencer
VP, Marketing

Mr. Spencer brings valuable marketing and strategic expertise to In Hand Health. He has more than 20 years leading marketing departments at software and manufacturing companies.

Mr. Spencer was part of three startups that were eventually acquired (Visual Components by Sybase, Tidestone Technologies by Actuate Corporation, and LightWild by Flextronics International). Mr. Spencer is proficient in the Adobe software suite and website development. He also has extensive experiencing in creating technical and corporate communications, developing traditional and digital marketing strategies, and managing corporate marketing departments.


Mark Spann
VP, Operations

Mr. Spann has owned his own businesses, worked with numerous Kansas City-area startups in the technology industry, and been a senior director on the staff of a church responsible for his department’s administration and non-pastoral ministry.

Mr. Spann’s undergraduate degree is in education and additionally he earned his master's degree in business administration. In his past association with technology companies, he has been responsible for financial management, administration, and operations.


Mark R. Callegari
Board Chairman

Mr. Callegari co-founded Innovative Software in 1979, which later merged with Informix. He teamed with Mr. Gassman to co-found Animated Lighting, a network-driven, microprocessor-controlled lighting display management system in 2002.

He also founded LightWild, a leader in LED lighting solutions; Tidestone Technologies, developer of Microsoft excel-based management reporting solutions; and Visual Components, which provided desktop software solutions for IT professionals and was purchased by Sybase.

He is currently a Director of Euronet Worldwide, a global provider of electronic payment and transaction processing solutions. Mr. Callegari also served on the board of wireless radio manufacturer Aerocomm and previously served as a Member of the Advisory Board of LaGarde Incorporated. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Rockhurst University. He holds two United States patents (with Mr. Gassman) on the process of illuminating building facades.
